Jaisalmer was founded by Raja Rawal Jaisal, a Bhatti Rajput ruler, in approximately 1156 A D. It is situated amid the picturesque Thar Desert and it proudly is home to the only inhabited fort in the world, which is also known as the Sonar Killa.
Apart from that, Jaisalmer has various other attractions like the Sam Sand Dunes, various Jain Temples, Mandir Palace, Gadisar Lake, Bada Bagh and various havelis like the Nathmal ki Haveli, Patwon ki Haveli, etc.
